The short version

We collect your email address so we can send you The Weekly Jungle and let you log in to this site. That is it. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels, we do not sell your data, and you can leave whenever you want.

Who we are

This site, bananomics.shop, and The Weekly Jungle newsletter are run by Bananomics, a sole proprietorship based in Quebec, Canada. The person in charge of protecting your personal information is the owner of Bananomics. You can reach us at hello@bananomics.digital.

What we collect

The 6-digit code we email you is never stored. We only keep a scrambled version of it for ten minutes, long enough to check the one you type.

What we do not do

Why we use it

We rely on your consent for the newsletter, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure site for the technical data.

Who helps us

A few providers handle your information on our behalf, only for the purposes above:

If you buy one of our tools or download our free ebook from our store, that happens on Gumroad, which collects your email and payment details under its own privacy policy.

These providers are based in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed outside Quebec and Canada. They are required to protect it, but it may be accessible to authorities in those countries under their laws.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we remove it from our list. The login session in your browser expires after 90 days or when you log out.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works instantly. For anything else, write to hello@bananomics.digital and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the same rights under the GDPR and can contact your local data protection authority.

Children

The Weekly Jungle is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has subscribed, write to us and we will delete the address.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the newsletter first.
